Selected Works from Bohdan Kowalsky Collection

An exhibition of the late Bohdan Kowalsky’s collection, bequeathed to UIMA in 2008. The exhibition includes works by Polish, Ukrainian and Ukrainian-American artists, such as Archipenko, Nowosielsky, Gritchenko, Trusz, Hnizdovsky, Solovij, Milonadis, Urban and many others.

Trypillian, Scythian, Greek & Roman Influences in Southern Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art invites you to a visual presentation by Andrew Demus documenting his travels in southern Ukraine during August of 2010 - exploring Trypillian, Scythian, Greek and Roman settlements from Chernivtsi to Odessa and Mykolayiv - stretching along the Black Sea coast. Much of the information and photography is little-known and rarely seen by tourists, making the presentation historically informative as well as visually captivating.

40/40 Anniversary Exhibition

The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art invites its members and members of our larger community to a 40/40 Exhibition that celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the Institute. This special event will exhibit artwork by 40 renowned modern and contemporary visual artists who have exhibited at the Institute over the past 40 years.

June – July, 2011
A one-person show presenting the artwork of Canadian artist Ron Kostyniuk, one of the artists to be first included in the UIMA’s Permanent Collection. On display will be a collection of Kostyniuk’s artwork from the 1960s to current-day.

An exploration of Bauhaus design principles in contemporary artwork. Students of IIT Chicago and several educational institutions of Dessau and Weimar, Germany will exhibit their artwork in a multi-media show.
